The wenglor LRL ring light is equipped with LEDs arranged in a circle that ensure uniform illumination intensity across the entire test object. With two sizes and three light colors, it is suitable for a wide range of applications and camera requirements in industrial image processing. The optional angle changers enable flexible adjustment of the illumination angle, allowing for better field of view homogeneity. In addition, the new ZMRG dark field attachment has been added to the illumination portfolio. Available in two different sizes with an inner diameter of 37 and 76 mm respectively, the LRL ring light creates optimal lighting situations in confined spaces and compact applications, as well as for larger lenses and more demanding applications. Compatibility with angle changers allows for a bright, even and diffuse lighting solution with different beam angles without shading. The convergence light attachment minimizes ring effects. Six M4 mounting threads, extensive mounting accessories and the connection via a 5-pin M12 plug ensure flexible mounting options. This configuration is particularly suitable for inspecting glossy and dark surfaces, where edges, bumps and scratches are clearly highlighted. Tettnang / Berlin – With the acquisition of software developer deevio, the wenglor sensoric group, based in Tettnang, Germany, is gaining greater know-how in artificial intelligence (AI) and data science while also creating new opportunities for future innovations in the field of machine vision. Based in Berlin, deevio GmbH was spun off from the Viessmann Group’s incubator wattx. deevio will remain in existence after it is integrated into the wenglor sensoric group, with Christian Vollrath, Head of Computer Vision, taking over management in the future. “We are delighted that, with the acquisition of deevio GmbH, we have this opportunity to further strengthen our expertise and capability in the field of machine vision,” stresses wenglor Managing Director Rafael Baur. “In recent years, deevio has developed a great deal of know-how in using AI and data science for image processing applications within the automation industry, which is a considerable advantage for us.” The Berlin-based software developer specializes in the automation of visual inspection processes in production. Combining AI, software and hardware, the image processing systems developed by deevio are used as solutions for complex production applications. Artificial intelligence can be used, among other things, to automate manual quality controls that cannot be solved with rule-based image processing. These solutions are already being used in many different areas of production within the automotive, packaging, and pharmaceutical industries. Just a few weeks ago, wenglor caused quite a sensation in the industrial image processing sector with the release of its B60 series. The B60 smart camera is a comprehensive solution for challenging image processing applications. “Our B60-series smart cameras with wenglor uniVision 3, wenglor’s integrated high-performance software ecosystem, have expanded the machine vision horizon in our industry,” says Christian Vollrath, who is Head of Computer Vision at wenglor and now taking over management of deevio as General Manager. “The course is clearly set for further innovations in AI and image processing. This is also why I see such great potential in this move, because, with deevio, we are now able to expand on our commitment to sustainable solutions.” During the acquisition process, deevio received support from LSJ.Advisory. CEO and co-founder Damian Heimel will offer deevio support for another six months, at which point wenglor will assume responsibility for its strategic management. Co-founder Dr. Tassilo Glander will continue to manage deevio’s tech team. “wenglor is the ideal partner for us, because it enables us to scale our AI technology and offer it to a much larger group of customers. We are very happy to be part of this innovative family going forward,” says Damian Heimel. In addition to the co-founders, deevio’s shareholders also included Italian holding company Image S Holding S.r.l. For the time being, the only minority shareholder besides wenglor is SFO, a venture capital firm from southern Germany. wenglor and deevio’s development teams will now work on integrating deevio technology into wenglor’s uniVision software environment, thus making it available to wenglor’s customers.

The P1PY2 generation of time-of-flight sensors with wintec and the P1XD fiber-optic amplifiers are just a few of the innovations that international visitors can look forward to.  Time-of-flight sensors with wintec stand for reliability and efficiency in object detection. Thanks to DS technology, they effortlessly detect objects on all surfaces, regardless of whether they are dark, glossy or transparent. The latest generation of laser sensors, which operate on the principle of transit time measurement, impresses with its high user-friendliness and intuitive operation. The new fiber-optic amplifiers in the P1XD series are also impressive: With their compact format and outstanding flexibility, which enables easy integration into various applications. With the modular principle, fiber-optic amplifiers can be easily combined with plastic and glass fiber-optic cables as well as various sensor heads, guaranteeing high adaptability. wenglor Becomes a Finalist at “Großer Preis des Mittelstandes”
Tettnang/Würzburg – wenglor sensoric, a family-owned company based in Tettnang, achieved one of the coveted finalist places in the “Großer Preis des Mittelstandes” competition. The competition organized by the Oskar-Patzelt Foundation since 1994 awards the nationwide German economic award every year. The motto of the award is “Healthy SMEs – Strong Economy – More Jobs”. The 2024 motto was also “Confidently towards the future”. wenglor is on the awards list as a finalist and stands out from 4,600 nominated companies throughout Germany thanks to its extraordinary entrepreneurial commitment.  General Manager Fabian Baur and Marketing Manager Patrick Oelze received the award for finalist at the awards ceremony in Würzburg in front of over 400 guests. “As Germany’s only economic prize, the ‘Großer Preis des Mittelstandes’ (Grand Prize for SMEs) assesses not only business management, innovations or jobs alone, but the company as a whole and its complex role in society,” the Oskar-Patzelt Foundation describes the special nature of the competition. The competition is entirely voluntary and exclusively privately funded. The winners and finalists are selected by twelve regional juries and a final jury, who work according to a corporate governance code and certified quality management. Participating companies can achieve three award levels in the competition: The “Nomination list” contains all companies that were nominated for the competition in accordance with the tender in the current competition year. The second stage comprises the “Jury list” and includes the companies that largely meet the five selection criteria. The “Award list”, i.e. the third stage, lists the few companies nominated as finalists or prize winners. The five competition criteria include outstanding performance in the overall company development, in the creation and securing of jobs and training, in modernization and innovation, in work in the region, as well as in service, proximity to the customer and marketing. Three winners and five finalists received awards in each of the twelve competition regions throughout Germany.   

weFlux²micro with M5 Thread: The Smallest Pressure Sensor for High Performance
Confined mounting spaces and compact system structures are a major challenge for the pressure measurement of liquids and gases. Thanks to its small diameter of just 14 mm, the new weFlux²micro pressure sensor enables measurements at previously inaccessible locations for the first time. Pressure ranges between –1 and +25 bar can therefore be installed for the first time in hydraulic clamping systems, tight lubrication bearings or compact 3D printers. A look at the details reveals why minimum size and maximum performance go together perfectly here. Several factors contribute to the fact that the weFlux²micro is smaller than an AA battery: Not only the small diameter of only 14 mm, but also the small process connection with M5 thread saves space. The miniature pressure sensor is also just 22 mm high, making it perfect for extremely tight systems. Thanks to its low weight of only 13 g, it can even be mounted on robot arms and moving system parts. And it doesn’t even have to compromise on performance: “System designers and engineers have long needed to monitor pressure in hard-to-reach places. Now there is a high-performance sensor product that also meets these requirements,” explains wenglor project manager Lars Rieken. “The weFlux²micro fills this gap: It is small, light and powerful at the same time." Robust Housing for High Performance With a response time of less than one millisecond and a measurement error of less than 0.5%, the sensor is very fast and very precise. The robust stainless steel 316L housing is ideal for harsh industries. Thanks to the high IP68 degree of protection, the sensor is resistant to aggressive cleaning agents and chemicals. Thanks to the analog output signal (4 to 20 mA), the sensor can be ideally integrated into existing systems. Positive-locking segmented cable compression provides additional protection in the event of mechanical tensile and rotational loads. New Fields of Application Thanks to the Small Installation Size The miniature format of the weFlux²micro is ideal for monitoring pressure cylinders in hydraulic or pneumatic clamping systems. Any pressure changes in the interior must be detected with great accuracy. “There is practically no space in these clamping systems for machine tools. Nevertheless, our integrated sensor ensures precise measurement in the medium,” says Rieken. “Due to its low dead weight, these systems can also be mounted on robot arms – another plus.” The size advantage also comes into its own in lubrication systems for ball bearings, gears, chains or linear guides. There, the sensor records the values required for correctly monitoring the lubrication quantity. And also in enclosed systems such as 3D printers or welding and milling systems, the small sensor enables precise monitoring of extraction devices or vacuum chambers.
