AI-Based Completeness Check of Ball Bearings with Smart Cameras
When manufacturing ball bearings, it must be checked that the correct number of balls are in the bearing. Oil, fat and reflections often make the balls look different, making detection difficult with rule-based image processing. A smart camera with a trained neural network, on the other hand, reliably detects and counts the balls. The determined quantity is automatically compared with the target quantity. Bearings with too few balls are detected and rejected from the process.
