For standard applications and moving system parts, the 1K format in plastic housing is the economical and flexible solution.

If, on the other hand, there are high requirements for resistance, cleaning or ambient conditions, the 2K design with 316L stainless steel housing offers the right alternative. With IP68 and IP69K degrees of protection, it reliably withstands high-pressure cleaning (up to 100 bar at water temperatures of up to 80 °C) and aggressive cleaning agents.

Retro-Reflex Sensors

Through-beam sensors

In reflex mode, the emitter and receiver are located in a common housing. The transmitted signal hits the object, is reflected by it and sent back to the receiver. Detection is based on the returning signal, which allows objects to be detected without an additional reflector or separate receiver.
In the case of the retro-reflex sensor principle, the emitter and the receiver are located in one housing. The transmitted signal is fed back to the receiver by an opposite reflector. If an object enters between the sensor and the reflector, the signal reflected back is interrupted or attenuated. Based on this change, the sensor detects the presence of the object.
With the through-beam barrier principle, the emitter and receiver are arranged opposite each other in separate housings. If an object passes through the space between the two components, the signal is interrupted or weakened. Based on this change, the sensor detects the presence of the object.
