Position Detection of Wooden Boards with B60 Smart Camera and AI

In the wood industry, the alignment of timber battens must be precisely recorded to enable error-free further processing. For this purpose, a B60 smart camera is installed next to the conveyor belt. The captured images are first analyzed by a neural network previously trained with sample images. The system then determines the orientation of the wooden battens based on the patterns of the year rings detected. This means that the automatic position detection by AI can be performed reliably even under harsh industrial conditions and in the ongoing production process.
