uniVision 2

uniVision 2 is the parameterizable standard software for smart cameras and vision sensors from the B50 series, for vision systems, for smart 2D/3D profile sensors and for 2D/3D profile sensors with machine vision controllers. It enables the evaluation of images and height profiles in vision systems with up to 16 devices – easily, flexibly and without programming knowledge. Intelligent image processing – one software for all 2D and 3D applications!

Everything in a Single Software Package

The entire world of uniVision software revolves around intelligent processing of two and three-dimensional data such as images and heights profiles. Regardless of whether a Smart Camera, a vision system or a 2D/3D sensor is used, all digital tasks associated with industrial image processing can be implemented with the configurable uniVision software platform – quickly, simply and flexibly.

uniVision 2 with Smart Cameras and Vision Sensors B50

Smart cameras and vision sensors from the B50 series, known as the weQube, combine the recording and evaluation of images in a compact and robust housing. In combination with the modular software concept of the uniVision 2, the B50 cameras are multifunctional specialists for machine image processing.

Software Packages

uniVision 2 offers a range of high-performance software packages for use with smart cameras and vision sensors from the B50 series. The scope of functions of the B50 camera can be expanded at any time with the help of license-based upgrades.
weQube technology software packages Smart Camera weQube

weQube – the Smart Camera

When weQube is equipped with all available software packages, we speak of a Smart Camera. These include:
  • weQubeVision – the standard image processing package including pattern matching
  • weQubeDecode – the scanning package
  • weQubeOCR – the character recognition package
weQube technology software packages weQubeVision Standard

weQubeVision Standard

Regardless of whether it is used for presence checks or dimensional accuracy checks or reference image comparisons – any number of image processing functions can be combined in a given application with weQubeVision Standard.
A separate communication processor ensures high-speed image processing even where Industrial Ethernet is used.
weQube technology software packages weQubeVision Standard with pattern matching

weQubeVision Standard
With Pattern Matching

In addition to all common image processing functions, weQubeVision Standard with pattern matching offers the option of detecting objects regardless of their position and rotational orientation within the image, and of using other image processing functions based on this option.
A separate communication processor ensures high-speed image processing even where Industrial Ethernet is used.
weQube technology software packages weQubeDecode

weQubeDecode

The scanning package transforms the weQube into a 1D/2D code scanner which is even able to reliably decipher damaged and poorly legible codes thanks to integrated code reconstruction.
weQube technology software packages weQubeOCR

weQubeOCR

weQubeOCR reads predefined OCR-A and OCR-B fonts over several lines in a single scanning operation. The teach-in function provides you with the additional option of teaching in new fonts in order to adapt weQubeOCR ideally to your application.

License Upgrades

Modular uniVision software can be expanded at any time with the following license upgrade packages.

Additional templates, i.e. predefined projects, are included in the software for standard applications.

Software Modules

Here you’ll find a detailed overview of all available weQube software modules and their allocations to the following software packages: weQubeVision Standard, weQubeVision with Pattern Matching, weQubeDecode, weQubeOCR and weQube – the Smart Camera.

uniVision Assistant: Intelligent Image Processing for Beginners and Experts!

uniVision 2 software offers a simple and intuitive solution for image processing applications with smart cameras and vision sensors from the B50 series. The integrated uniVision Assistant accompanies the user step by step in setting up the machine vision product. Detailed information displayed as text provides exact descriptions of all possible options for beginners. Additional templates, i.e. predefined projects, are included in the software for standard applications.
The software’s modular layout provides experts with maximum flexibility when solving complex applications. This means that the extensive uniVision range of services is quickly accessible to every user – from beginners to professionals.

weQubeVision Pattern Matching

weQube technology pattern matching
The Smart Camera with edge-based object detection

weQubeVision Standard with pattern matching as an additional function recognizes objects regardless of their position and rotational orientation within the image (X, Y and 360° tracking).
The edge-based algorithm makes use of HALCON’s image processing library to this end, and thus assures top quality, stability and high speed.

weQube technology pattern matching counting multi-object detection
Several identical objects can be detected in the image simultaneously. This makes it possible to count objects and permits checking for completeness.
weQube technology pattern matching object overlay
Objects don’t need to be fully visible in order to be detected. Objects can even be superimposed on each other up to an adjustable degree – and are nevertheless detected.
weQube technology pattern matching functions form check
Pattern matching serves as a basis for additional image processing functions such as measuring objects.
weQube technology pattern matching complex background
Not only can objects be detected against homogeneous backgrounds, but against complex ones as well such as conveyor belts, gratings, corrugated sheet metal and other backgrounds with high-contrast textures or patterns.

Combine and Analyze Height Profiles: The VisionApp 360 Plugin

With the VisionApp 360 that runs on the control unit, height profiles of up to 16 2D/3D profile sensors can be combined and analyzed. The sensors are calibrated to each other via a calibration object and can therefore be carried out quickly and easily without programming knowledge. The combined height profile can then be evaluated as desired with the uniVision Profile software. The exact calculation of cross-sectional areas from 360° height profiles can thus be carried out in just a few steps.
