If the material to be conveyed changes during the ongoing process, this also affects the conditions for object detection. Nevertheless, all objects must be reliably detected for a reliable material flow.

Products do not always lie in the same position or orientation on the conveyor belt. Depending on the position, the area to be detected may shift significantly. The object detection solution must therefore cover a sufficiently large area of the conveyor line.

The faster the conveyor moves, the less time is left to detect the individual objects. Especially at high cycle rates, short response times are important so that the material flow can be controlled reliably.

In many conveyor systems, space for additional sensors is scarce. This is especially true for narrow transfer points or the area between two conveyors. They require compact solutions or complete systems that can be easily integrated into existing systems with little design effort.

Each light beam is evaluated individually and provides its own information, which is available via IO-Link for further processing. This makes it possible to determine exactly which beam was interrupted. This allows the position, size and contour of objects to be precisely recorded and soiled or switched-off light beams to be identified in a targeted manner. This simplifies maintenance and fault diagnosis.

Modular and Scalable h3>
Thanks to its modular design, the PEHT system can be flexibly adapted to different applications. Up to 15 modules with nine switching points each can be connected to each other. This allows detection widths of 270 to 4,000 mm to be covered and up to 135 switching points to be evaluated. This reduces the design effort and enables scaling according to requirements. In the event of service, only the affected module is replaced, not the entire system.

Even More Protection for Your Conveyor System?
The protective cover makes it easier to clean the PEHT light strips and helps ensure stable processes in intralogistics. Dirt and debris, for example, can simply be removed with compressed air. At the same time, the cover protects against splash water and increases the degree of protection from IP50 to IP54. With a length of 2,000 mm, it can be individually shortened.
Flexible Integration in Controls h3>
The entire PEHT system can be easily integrated into existing controls and systems. Two independent switching outputs enable flexible signal processing, while parameters, diagnostics and process data are transmitted digitally via IO-Link 1.1 and stored centrally. Settings can be restored automatically, simplifying initial startup and maintenance.

Flexible System Integration Using the Bridge
Light strips cannot always be installed continuously in a straight line. A more flexible arrangement is therefore required, especially in confined spaces or complex detection ranges.
With a special bridge, the light strips can be installed spatially separate from each other. The connection is made via a cable so that the light strips can also be mounted offset, at right angles or in different positions.
This enables continuous monitoring even in demanding installation situations without relying on a rigid, straight arrangement.

Material Flow Monitoring in the Infeed Area h4>
In the infeed area of intralogistics systems, containers or cartons are fed in, inspected, and transferred to downstream conveyor lines in the correct position. Light curtains monitor the presence and position of the conveyed goods. The sensors detect the goods being conveyed from the bottom up, allowing them to be integrated without the need for additional mounting or protective frames. This reduces the required installation space and simplifies installation, while supporting a reliable, collision-free material flow.
