Plastic Fiber-Optic Cables

Plastic fiber-optic cables are used in applications where limited space or challenging ambient conditions restrict the use of conventional optoelectronic components. They enable even extremely small objects to be reliably detected in confined and hard-to-reach spaces. Due to their material properties, plastic fiber-optic cables are characterized by high flexibility, which means that they can also be used with small bending radii. They are suitable for transmitting visible light.

Plastic Fiber-Optic Cables Standard

Standard fiber-optic heads for plastic fiber-optic cables have a straight, cylindrical format and are available with or without thread. Versions with a thread allow for quick and easy installation. They can either be screwed into pre-drilled holes or fixed to angles or mounting plates using the nuts provided. Variants with thin, elongated metal lances can be flexibly adapted to the relevant installation situation by manual bending. Non-threaded fiber-optic heads are particularly suitable for use in confined environments and can be inserted into prefabricated holders.

Hexagonal Plastic Fiber-Optic Cables

Angled hexagonal heads are ideal for installation situations where the optical axis and cable outlet must be oriented differently. They enable flexible installation in limited installation space. The thread enables the heads to either be screwed directly into pre-drilled holes or fixed to brackets or plates using the supplied nuts.

Flat Plastic Fiber-Optic Cables

Flat fiber-optic heads can be easily integrated into the bottom of workpiece carriers, providing a compact and discreet mounting option. Models with flexible cable outlet allow for easy side cable routing, which facilitates installation in confined installation situations.

Miniature Plastic Fiber-Optic Cables

Miniature fiber-optic heads are particularly suitable for applications with extremely limited space and allow integration into even the smallest mounting spaces.

L-Shape Plastic Fiber-Optic Cables

Plastic fiber-optic cables with integrated mounting brackets allow simple and secure mounting through prefabricated threaded holes. At the same time, it ensures precise positioning of the optical axis.

Glass Fiber-Optic Cable

Glass fiber-optic cables are reliable transmission components in non-contact measuring systems. Due to their high flexibility, they can also be easily integrated in confined installation situations. Their high transmission efficiency in the infrared range ensures precise measurements over long distances. Glass fiber-optic cables are an ideal solution in high temperatures or in aggressive ambient conditions in particular. The modular system also enables a wide selection of types and variants for different applications.

Straight Glass Fiber-Optic Cable with Thread

Glass fiber-optic cables with thread enable quick and easy installation. They can be screwed directly into pre-drilled holes or fixed securely to brackets or mounting plates using two nuts. The integrated thread ensures reliable mounting even under vibration and mechanical load.

Straight Glass Fiber-Optic Cable with Heel

Glass fiber-optic cables of this type have a defined heel that allows precise positioning without threads. They are particularly suitable for applications where fast and repeatable placement is required, such as in test fixtures or test systems.

Straight Glass Fiber-Optic Cable with Heel and Thread

This variant combines the advantages of a defined heel with those of an integrated thread in one component. The heel makes positioning easier, while the thread ensures secure mechanical fixing. This enables the fiber-optic cables to be precisely aligned and, at the same time, securely mounted. The combination of both features is particularly suitable for industrial applications with high demands on precision and stability.

Angled

Angled glass fiber-optic cables enable lateral light emission and are ideal for applications with confined installation situations. The length of the lateral light emission can be configured individually. Thanks to the angled format, the cable can be laid in a space-saving manner without affecting the quality of the light extraction. This version is particularly suitable for use in housings, machine interiors or applications with special requirements for light guidance.

Fiber-Optic Cable Bands

Fiber-optic cable bands have a wide detection area and thus enable larger areas to be covered for object detection. For analog universal reflex sensors (e.g. UF22MV3, UF55MV3), the width of the light band is proportional to the analog signal, allowing an accurate coverage measurement to be carried out. For universal reflex sensors with switching output, the switching point can be set so that the signal is triggered when a defined light band coverage is reached.
