Presence and Slot Monitoring in Cable Testers via Smart Camera
When manufacturing electrical cables, a check to ensure that all functions are fulfilled must be carried out during quality control. The presence and correct positioning of the different colored cables must therefore be recorded in specially developed automatic testing machines. 2D codes must also be read for identification. A Smart Camera is installed for this purpose, which solves all tasks in a single operation. The recording and subsequent evaluation via image processing software are created directly in the Smart Camera and the result is forwarded to the control system.

Smart cameras from the B50 series combine numerous image processing functions such as the detection of colors, patterns or shapes, the recognition of fonts and symbols as well as the decryption of 1D and 2D codes. Image recording and evaluation are integrated into a compact housing, which is available in the auto-focus and C mount variants.
