Top100: wenglor sensoric Honored as Innovation Leader

wenglor sensoric GmbH is one of this year’s innovation leaders amongst Germany’s mid-sized companies. The company from Tettnang was honored by Ranga Yogeshwar, Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke and compamedia with the TOP 100 seal which was awarded for the 24th time this year. Already during initial participation in the award competition, wenglor sensoric succeeded in placing second in the competitions largest category. During the course of the impartial selection process, the company was especially persuasive with its innovation success.

TOP 100 award winner wenglor sensoric GmbH from Tettnang, Germany, develops sensors that demonstrate more than just standard intelligence. Amongst other aspects this is due to the fact that certain sensors evaluate entire images instead individual measuring points. In combination with standardized interfaces, the sensors are thus fit for Industry 4.0. The spectrum of intelligent sensor technologies from Lake Constance ranges from photoelectronic sensors, ultrasonic and fluid sensors, right on up to inductive sensors, 2D/3D image processing systems, barcode and line scanners, as well as software products and safety technology. “We want to simplify and accelerate industrial processes with our solutions, and make them more and more efficient as a result”, says managing director Fabian Baur. Already during participation in its first TOP 100 competition, the company was ranked second in the size category for companies with more than 200 employees.

Aligning itself closely to the needs of its customers, and in doing so remaining flexible, is one of the top innovator’s distinguishing characteristics. For example, the innovations department developed a sensor especially for a specific customer, which is capable of detecting jet-black and glossy containers extremely quickly and is only as large as a sugar cube. The effort has paid off: the family company founded in 1983 is a technology leader and has been awarded numerous parents in recent years. 750 employees work at wenglor sensoric around the word, including 338 in Germany.
