Reading UV Data Matrix Codes on Glass Bottles by B60 Smart Camera
In the pharmaceutical industry, caps of glass bottles or ampoules are printed with GS1 data matrix codes using UV ink. For unique identification and counterfeit protection, the code must be correct and legible. A B60 smart camera with multi-UV dome light checks the codes. The UV illumination stimulates the fluorescence of the ink, creating a stable contrast for safe decoding. Incorrect or illegible codes are automatically rejected. The dome geometry with integrated filter shields UV radiation, no additional protective measures are required.
