Fill-Level Monitoring of Bulk Material via Time-of-Flight Laser Distance Sensors

Injected plastic parts are often transported as bulk material and filled into a material bunker for further processing, separated and fed to the next production step. Continuous level monitoring of the bunker is essential for a smooth production flow. Due to their large linear light spot, time-of-flight laser distance sensors with blue laser deliver reliable results – even on uneven or inclined surfaces. Due to the large measuring range, the sensors are also suitable for a wide range of bunker sizes and operating environments.

Laser distance sensors Time-of-Flight (ToF) work according to the principle of transit time measurement, which means that they cover large working ranges up to 10,000 mm, so that objects can be reliably detected even at great distances. The ToF sensors are extremely robust against interfering ambient light, which ensures reliable operation.
