Design

Design is divided into four types of interlocking devices according to EN ISO 14119.
Type 1 Uncoded cam-operated interlocking device in which the actuator and actuation system are separated from each other and designed to fit together (for example, safety hinge switch). Type 2 Coded mechanical interlocking device in which the actuator and actuation system are separated from each other and designed to fit together. Type 3 Uncoded, non-mechanically actuated interlocking device whose actuator and actuation system are separated from each other (for example, safety proximity switches). Type 4 Coded, non-mechanically actuated interlocking device whose actuator and actuation system are separated from each other (for example, RFID safety switch).
