Measuring the Diameter of Calottes with Vision System
When punching body parts in the automotive industry, it is very important to measure the diameters of the calottes produced and thus ensure the quality of the punching process. A Vision system consisting of a machine vision camera, telecentric lens, backlight and control unit is used to create a sharp image contour of the hole punch using transmitted light. The diameter is then calculated in the uniVision software using a measuring module. Thanks to the high camera resolution and telecentricity, a high level of precision is achieved.
Vision systems solve complex image processing applications. They consist of up to 16 machine vision cameras with C mount lenses, external illumination and a machine vision controller. The suitable software offers numerous evaluation options and a wide range of interfaces make connectivity easier.
