Position Monitoring of Car Body Parts with Laser Distance Sensors Time of Flight

In automotive shell construction, body parts such as doors, tailgates or fenders are welded by robots. To ensure that the parts for the welding process are correctly positioned, laser distance sensors Time of Flight with wintec check their exact position in the welding device. The sensor’s robust stainless steel 316L housing is resistant to welding spatter or sparks. The optical lens has a special coating and is therefore also very resistant. If it wears, it can be replaced with a new lens without having to replace the entire sensor.

Laser Distance Sensors Time of Flight

Laser distance sensors Time-of-Flight (ToF) work according to the principle of transit time measurement, which means that they cover large working ranges up to 10,000 mm, so that objects can be reliably detected even at great distances. The ToF sensors are extremely robust against interfering ambient light, which ensures reliable operation.
