wenglor Launches Donation Campaign for Urmel-Kinderkrebshilfe
wenglor, the sensor and image processing specialist from Tettnang, Germany, has supported Urmel Kinderkrebshilfe e.V. with a direct donation of EUR 5,000. The money is intended to help affected families to fulfill wishes of children suffering from cancer, to make their everyday lives easier or to pay for necessary purchases. Urmel will also receive additional donations as part of an online campaign – for each follower on the social media accounts of Urmel and wenglor in the next six months. But the family-run company wenglor is not the only one donating, the employees themselves and their families can also sign up for a sponsorship to provide further support.
EUR 5,000 as the Starting Donation
At the end of March, Urmel Board Member, Michael Müller, and Fabian Baur, Managing Director of wenglor, officially presented the EUR 5,000 donation check at wenglor’s head office. In this case, however, handing over the symbolic check was just the start of a multi-stage fundraising campaign that wenglor is carrying out this year. “This is a great start, which already gives us numerous opportunities to financially support families with children suffering from cancer and to relieve their strain a little,” says Müller with delight. wenglor’s managing directors Fabian and Rafael Baur, both of whom have several children of their own, add: “As fathers, we can’t imagine the stresses and strains in everyday life and the suffering involved when children are sick with cancer. That’s why it’s all the more important for us to help those affected and keep raising awareness of this serious illness – both within the company and beyond.”
Dynamic Donation Campaign Launches in April
wenglor is also launching the next stage of the campaign from the beginning of April to ensure that significantly more than EUR 5,000 will be collected for Urmel: As part of the “weUrmel” online donation challenge, wenglor is donating an additional sum to Urmel – for additional followers gained on the Urmel and wenglor social media channels on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. “Everyone can take part here! Share the posts on the campaign in your networks and encourage your friends and acquaintances to follow one of the Urmel or wenglor channels,” Baur continues. The more followers gained across all accounts by the end of September, the higher the donation will be. “Every follower counts and helps to do good.”
Employees and Their Families Become Urmel Sponsors
But it’s not just the company management led by Fabian and Rafael Baur that is working to generate donations on behalf of the company group – wenglor employees can also get involved themselves. Every employee can make a voluntary donation directly to Urmel until the end of September and offer their personal financial support. “We aim to inspire as many employees as possible to take part in the weUrmel donation challenge.” There is even a special campaign stand for this at the company headquarters in Tettnang. Of course, the entire campaign can be followed on social media channels. “We are already very grateful for the outstanding support from wenglor and its employees,” says Urmel Board Member Michael Müller. “There are already concrete requests for affected families who get help with this money.”
