Opening of the New Company Building in Unterschleißheim

Unterschleißheim – The wenglor sensoric group based in Tettnang held a two-day event on September 22 and 23 to celebrate the official opening of the wenglorCenter at the new location in Unterschleißheim. After almost three years of construction, wenglorMEL employees were able to move from Eching to the new working environment in Unterschleißheim in June. wenglor is using state-of-the-art technologies and intelligent concepts in its new building to provide a pleasant and resource-efficient working and production environment for the growing workforce of more than 1,100 employees worldwide.

Company founder Dieter and Bärbel Baur, Managing Directors Fabian and Rafael Baur, and wenglorMEL Managing Director Torsten Hellerström were symbolically presented with the key to wenglorCenter by architect Markus Hering on Friday, September 22. The mayor of the city of Unterschleißheim, Christian Böck, also congratulated wenglor on the opening of the building and expressed his delight at the new headquarters at the multifaceted industrial site in Unterschleißheim. On Saturday, September 23, the wenglorCenter opened its doors to the families and friends of wenglorMEL employees, who were given the opportunity to explore the new location on tours of the building.
The new wenglorCenter is fitted with modern technologies and intelligent concepts to create a pleasant and resource-efficient working and production environment. Energy-efficient building design plays a central role at the new location. Large-scale photovoltaic systems for generating electricity were installed on the roof surfaces. Another focus was ensuring that the building is optimally insulated to minimize heat loss and enable the heating and cooling systems to be used efficiently. Temperature stability throughout the building is also of great importance, especially in production areas where maintaining an even temperature is essential for highly accurate sensors. The heating and cooling systems ensure precise and reliable temperature control to guarantee optimal production conditions. Heat and cooling are largely generated using geothermal energy. Intelligent control of the blinds ensures that the premises are protected from excessive sunlight to prevent overheating. Another innovative feature of the new company building is the paternoster storage facility. The underground car park area is also used to gain a total of 500 square meters of storage space for the two-story warehouse.
