The U1KM ultrasonic sensor in compact K design enables reliable detection of a wide variety of objects at distances of up to 3 meters. Transparent, shiny and dark objects of a wide range of materials are reliably detected. The sensor is particularly suitable for presence control, level monitoring and distance measurement.

In the packaging industry, collaborative robots handle the automatic gripping and transfer of cartons between pallets and conveyor systems. To reliably detect the distance to cartons and ensure precise gripping, a miniature design ultrasonic distance sensor is mounted directly on the gripper. The sensor detects objects and measures distances to workpieces or obstacles within a range of up to three meters, regardless of shape, color, or changing lighting conditions. Thanks to its compact size and low weight, it does not affect the robot’s dynamics.

U1KM Ultrasonic Sensors FAQs

The U1KM ultrasonic sensors are versatile and enable reliable object detection regardless of color, transparency or surface finish. Typical applications include logistics, packaging and mechanical engineering.
The U1KM detects objects as small as 50 mm and is therefore also suitable for applications with a very short distance to the object. For distance and measuring tasks, the measuring range starts at 250 mm.
The sensor meets the degree of protection IP62* and is therefore protected against dust and dripping water from above when mounted facing downwards.
Multiplex operation allows multiple sensors to be mounted directly next to each other without mutual interference.
The key difference is the range. The U1KM enables measurements and object detection at distances of up to 3 m. The U1KT, on the other hand, is specially designed for short-range applications and offers a range of up to 400 mm.
No, the U1KM does not support barrier mode.
