Distance Measurement on Telescopic Conveyors with Laser Distance Sensors Time of Flight

Telescopic conveyors are used in large logistics centers to efficiently load and unload trucks. Depending on the filling of the loading platform, these mobile belt conveyors can be retracted or extended so that parcels can be transported quickly. In order to be able to monitor the distance of the moving parts to the base, a laser distance sensor Time of Flight is attached below the conveyor belt. This measures the distance to the loading/unloading station in the same way. In the event of disruptive factors such as fog, snow or rain, the sensor reliably switches to up to eight meters, even outdoors, thanks to DS technology.

Laser Distance Sensors Time of Flight

Laser distance sensors Time-of-Flight (ToF) work according to the principle of transit time measurement, which means that they cover large working ranges up to 10,000 mm, so that objects can be reliably detected even at great distances. The ToF sensors are extremely robust against interfering ambient light, which ensures reliable operation.
