Hole Check of Flanges in CNC Portals Using Laser Distance Sensor Time of Flight

When machining metallic flanges in CNC machining portals, the drilling of several holes must be reliably checked. If a hole is drilled twice, the diameter can change – the component must be sorted out. To carry out a presence check on the holes, a laser distance sensor Time of Flight is installed above the drill head, which reliably detects the shiny components. Thanks to the V4A stainless steel housing with IP69K degree of protection, the harsh ambient conditions at 60 °C and hot steam do not affect the measuring accuracy and reliability.

Laser Distance Sensors Time of Flight

Laser distance sensors Time-of-Flight (ToF) work according to the principle of transit time measurement, which means that they cover large working ranges up to 10,000 mm, so that objects can be reliably detected even at great distances. The ToF sensors are extremely robust against interfering ambient light, which ensures reliable operation.
