Inductive Sensor

An inductive sensor is equipped with a coil underneath the sensing face. which generates a magnetic field. Approaching metal objects (e.g. steel, aluminum or brass) generate eddy currents within this magnetic field which are measured by the sensor. When the approaching metal object reaches the selected switching distance, the output is switched.
