Drill Hole Positioning for Wing Surfaces via Machine Vision Camera
In the automated production of wing surfaces in aircraft construction, holes must be drilled on the wings for the rivets. For this purpose, a machine vision camera identifies a reference hole on the wing and determines the center of the hole via the uniVision software. The coordinates are then transferred to the controller, which guides the robot to the position of the next hole to be drilled. The hole in turn serves as a reference hole for the next drilling process. The process continues until all holes are drilled. The high accuracy of the camera ensures that the holes are positioned precisely in relation to each other.
Machine Vision Cameras
Machine Vision Cameras from wenglor deliver high image quality in a compact housing format. Thanks to image chips with global shutter, high-resolution images (from 1.6 to 24 MP) are possible even in dynamic applications.
