P2PY Time-of-Flight Laser Distance Sensors
- Durable housing made of stainless steel 316L (1.4404/V4A) – also for welding spatter and flying sparks
- High mechanical stability and resistance against shocks and impacts
- Replaceable PMMA lens with special coating for increased protection
- Optional replaceable lens made of CR-39 for increased welding field resistance
Laser distance sensors Time-of-Flight with wintec are powerful time-of-flight sensors that work with a red laser. This means that they cover large working ranges and detect objects safely and reliably even from a large distance.
The latest wintec generation with DS technology delivers precise results up to 10 meters and sets itself apart in particular by the fact that it reliably detects objects regardless of their color or surface condition, such as gloss – even in extreme inclined positions.

Position Monitoring of Car Body Parts h4>
In automotive shell construction, body parts such as doors, tailgates or fenders are welded by robots. The sensors in the robust stainless steel 316L housing and coated lens check the exact position of the components in the welding device and are resistant to welding spatter or sparks.

Inductive Sensors h2>
Welding Field Resistant Inductive Sensors with Correction Factor 1
- Welding field resistant thanks to Teflon coating (sleeve, sensor cap, nuts)
- Robust against magnetic direct and alternating fields up to min. 200 mT
- Very high switching frequencies up to 4,200 Hz
- High switching distances of up to 50 mm with correction factor 1
Inductive sensors detect metal objects contactlessly through electromagnetic induction. Sensors with correction factor 1 have an identical switching distance on different metals and thus enable precise detection of varying materials.
The welding field resistant sensors are available in different formats and with different detection ranges; installation is flush or non-flush depending on the application area.
2D/3D Profile Sensors h2>
2D/3D Profile Sensors MLZL
- Compact, resistant metal housing – resistant to heat and flying sparks
- High-end appearance for high profile quality
- Powerful lasers (red, blue) in laser classes 2M, 3R and 3B
- Integrated air flushing and cooling
- Exchangeable protective screens
The slim MLZL design is specially developed for optical weld seam tracking and can be attached directly to the robot arm. During the ongoing process, the 2D/3D profile sensor detects all types of joint and can be quickly and easily integrated into the robot controls thanks to suitable robot interfaces.

The MLZL Seam Tracking Sensor in Use – Robust and Precise
Welding Seam Tracking in Robot Cells by 2D/3D Profile Sensors h4>
In fully automatic robot welding cells, it is necessary to determine the exact positioning of the joints on edges, angles or steps before the welding process. For this purpose, a 2D/3D profile sensor is mounted on the robot directly next to the welding torch in the MLZL housing specially developed for weld seam tracking.
