Film Inspection of Tea Packaging with Fiber-Optic Sensors
In filling lines for tea bags, the packaging film must be reliably checked for adhesive residue before it is folded, glued and cut into the characteristic tea bag shape in the subsequent process. For this purpose, a fiber-optic sensor is used in through-beam mode. The emitter looks through the thin film from above while it is placed directly on the receiver and passed through under tension. Thanks to the pink light, colored and glossy films are also reliably inspected. The wide range of fiber-optic sensors and fiber-optic cables, including high-flex cables, enables reliable adaptation to changing conditions.
Fiber-Optic Sensors
Fiber-optic sensors are ideal for detecting small parts. They use plastic or glass fiber-optic cables, which can also be used in hard-to-reach places due to their high flexibility. Plastic or glass fiber-optic cables are connected to fiber-optic sensors for use in applications with limited space or high temperatures. They offer advantages such as high sensitivity, quick response time and robustness.
