Cooling Water Monitoring on Packaging Machines with Flow Sensor
When manufacturing blister packs, heating elements must be protected against overheating using cooling water. Both flow velocity and temperature must be closely monitored. For this purpose, a flow sensor is installed in the line system to check both values with two digital switching outputs. These are evaluated by a PLC. If the values exceed or fall below the limits, the water volume is adjusted accordingly or the system is switched off. The display serves as an additional temperature indicator directly on the machine.
Flow Sensors
Flow sensors operate according to the calorimetric principle and can be mounted independently of the current direction. weFlux² series models combine flow and temperature measurement; parameter setting or data transfer can be carried out via IO-Link.
