ATEX Directive

This stands for atmosphere explosive. ATEX directive is a designation of the EU directives 94/9/EC (applies to manufacturers of electrical operating equipment) and 1999/92/EC (applies to equipment operating companies). ATEX stands for “atmosphère explosive”. Differentiation is made between two different types of potentially explosive atmospheres, namely gas and dust. The respective designations encode the characteristic features of the product in potentially explosive atmospheres. Gas atmosphere:
