Position Monitoring of Dark Fabric Plates on Robot Arms in the Production of Trunk Trims Using Reflex Sensors with Background Suppression
For the production of trunk trims, fabric panels are pressed in automated robot cells, so-called rear body cells. After being picked up by the robot, the exact position of the deep black fabric is checked by four reflex sensors with background suppression. The miniature sensors in the 1K housing can be optimally integrated into the metal profiles of the gripping device and reliably detect the black fabric. Only when the position of the large fabric plates has been confirmed by the sensors does the robot continue the transfer process to the hot surface.

Reflex Sensors With Background Suppression
Reflex sensors with background suppression detect and measure objects contactlessly and detect them in front of any defined background. They work with red light, infrared light, blue light or laser light. Thanks to the principle of angle measurement, the color, shape and object surface have no influence on the switching behavior of the sensors.
