Bin Picking at Picking Stations with 3D Sensors in Logistics Centers

In large goods distribution centers, goods are identified at automated picking locations using bin picking, picked and moved using robot grippers. The various objects are arranged chaotically in the transport boxes and must be identified beforehand so that they can be reliably gripped. A stationary 3D sensor is installed above the transfer station for this purpose. This creates a 3D point cloud using structured light, from which precise position and size data of the objects can be determined – regardless of their shape, direction of rotation or surface.

MLBS 3D Sensors

3D sensors in the MLBS performance class are designed for detecting large measuring volumes thanks to their symmetrical design and powerful light engine. Short exposure times make the 3D scanners ideal for dynamic applications
