Position Control of Components at Manual Workstations via Laser Distance Sensors Time of Flight

The presence and correct position of components during the insertion process must be ensured at semi-automated manual workstations. This prevents components or the machine from being damaged. For this purpose, a laser distance sensor Time of Flight with wintec is installed at an angle above the station, which reliably detects both dark and shiny objects at an angle and regardless of their degree of gloss and surface condition. As the sensor is mounted outside the working range to keep it clear, large distances are required between the sensor and the object.

Laser Distance Sensors Time of Flight

Laser distance sensors Time-of-Flight (ToF) work according to the principle of transit time measurement, which means that they cover large working ranges up to 10,000 mm, so that objects can be reliably detected even at great distances. The ToF sensors are extremely robust against interfering ambient light, which ensures reliable operation.
