Quality Control of Automotive Fuses via 2D/3D Profile Sensors

After manual production and installation of fuses and on-board power supplies for passenger cars, the correct cable assignment, as well as the correct arrangement and insertion depth of the fuses, are monitored in testing machines. The latter is made possible by the use of a 2D/3D profile sensor, which measures the entire block via laser triangulation with micrometer precision. The exact insertion height is determined based on the height distance and the intensity image. The test is completed in less than three seconds.
