Analog Distance Measurement in a Stacking System for Sheet Metal Parts with Laser Distance Sensors Time of Flight with wintec

In the automotive industry, sheet metal body parts, such as doors, are automatically stored in and removed from stacking systems. In order for the robot to perform stacking, the storage height must be determined on these stacking column systems. Analog laser distance sensors Time of Flight with wintec measure the distance to the half-folded latches in the stacking columns from distances of up to ten meters. The sensors reliably detect the objects regardless of their gloss, angle or degree of mattness.

Laser Distance Sensors Time of Flight

Laser distance sensors Time-of-Flight (ToF) work according to the principle of transit time measurement, which means that they cover large working ranges up to 10,000 mm, so that objects can be reliably detected even at great distances. The ToF sensors are extremely robust against interfering ambient light, which ensures reliable operation.
