OCR Reader

These OCR Readers are currently the smallest in their class available from the optical character recognition market. They provide quick and reliable recognition of data, characters and text in a very small housing. Camera, optics, illumination and analysis modules are all integrated into the compact housing, and external lamps can be optionally connected as well. The auto focus function is also a great advantage which always assures a sharp image – automatically.

Applications/Functions

The OCR Reader deciphers all alphabetical characters and numbers in all languages from anywhere in the world! It also remembers logos, character combinations, image fragments and print marks after just a single Teach-In procedure. Read out your best-before dates and serial numbers quickly and reliably. Characters to be scanned can be printed, needled, embossed or dotted. Objects are recognized regardless of position and skew. The working range can be individually defined as well, and interfering image areas can be suppressed. The wenglor OCR Reader can thus be used with any background.

Outputs

The OCR Reader is equipped with 4 outputs which can be set to respond to various events. Up to 4 objects can be linked to each other in a single project.

Interface

The integrated USB 2.0 port allows for easy wiring, plugging in and unplugging with the PC switched on, and high speed data transmission. The OCR Reader can be quickly incorporated into your production environment with plug&play technology! An RS-232 interface is also available.

Setup

Thanks to wenglor software, the OCR Reader can be quickly adapted to your application. Configuration via PC or laptop is easy with the help of user-friendly software. Selection from as many as 20 previously saved projects is also possible via the digital input.
