Fiber Optic Cable Sensors are prepared for the application with Glass and Plastic Fiber Optic Cables. A reflex mode as well a through beam mode is possible. They evaluate the light reflected by the object. The ouput switches if the object reaches the adjusted detection range (reflex operation mode) or if the active light beam is interrupted (through beam mode). Bright objects reflect light better than dark objects, and can thus be recognized from greater distances. In the through beam mode the color of the object has no influence on the detection range.
Three wenglor Plastic or Glass Fiber Optic Cables can be adapted on this sensor. Up to twelve expansion modules can be connected to this basic module, meaning a maximum of 15 Fiber Optic Cables are available. The novel OLED-Display assures a simple menu-driven adjustment of the sensors. The signal strength and the switching threshold can be read off from the display as numerical values or visualized in a bar chart.
Sensor functions can be activated and scanning results can be acquired via the RS-232 interface. A comfortable parametrization and a fast diagnosis is possible via the IO-Link interface and the original data is available.
Adjustments are performed with a potentiometer. With Teach-In versions, adjustments are made with the appropriate keys, externally or via the RS-232 interface respectively via the IO-Link interface. At the product family ODX402 the configuration is made via the graphical OLED display.
